Directions
In mixing bowl add buttermilk, Hattie Z's Nashville Hot Chicken, and egg; whisk until its fully combined. Throw each piece of chicken in mixture and make sure it's fully covered, then pop it in the fridge for 1-3 hours.
Remove chicken from mixture and pat dry each piece with paper towel. Make sure you do not throw out the mixture.
Mix together flour & salt. Dip each piece of chicken in flour mixture, then in the buttermilk mixture. Dip one more time into the flour mixture to make sure it has a good coat on it.
In a sauce pan combine lard (oil or butter) and Hattie Z's Nashville Hot Chicken on medium heat. Stirring occasionally keep on medium heat until melted and smooth.
Add oil to a large skillet over medium/high heat. Make sure oil reaches 350 degrees F. Add chicken and cook until chicken is crispy, golden, and cooked through (165F). Usually about 5 mins per side.
Place chicken on rack to get extra oil drips and COVER the chicken with your Hattie Z's Nashville Hot Chicken Sauce.
You may then throw your chicken on your bread of choice and top it off with your coleslaw and pickles!
