Introducing Sumac Lemonade with True Lemon Granules — a bright, tangy, and slightly exotic twist on classic lemonade. We combine the tart, citrusy, reddish-purple zing of sumac with the crisp, clean lemon burst of True Lemon granules and the gourmet edge of The Spice Guy’s spice philosophy. The result: a refreshing, visually vibrant drink that’s perfect for summer, as a non-alcoholic mocktail, or a stylish beverage for your next gathering.

Ingredients
-
4 cups (960 mL) cold filtered water
-
4 packets (or equivalent) True Lemon granules (crystallized lemon)
-
2 Tbsp (≈30 g) ground Sumac spice
-
2–3 Tbsp (30–45 mL) maple syrup or honey (or sweetener of choice)
-
Pinch of sea salt (to enhance citrus flavor)
-
Ice cubes, for serving
-
Garnishes (optional): lemon slices, fresh mint sprigs, a few fresh raspberries or edible flowers
-
Optional gourmet edge: ½ tsp The Spice Guy Co.’s Mulling Spice blend (just for a subtle warm spice layer)
Directions
In a heat-proof small bowl or saucepan, combine ½ cup (120 mL) of the cold water with the 2 Tbsp ground Sumac.
Stir to mix thoroughly. Let it sit for about 2–3 minutes to begin infusing the liquid with the Sumac’s tart color and flavor.
Meanwhile, in a pitcher, add the remaining 3½ cups (840 mL) cold water, the True Lemon granules, maple syrup or honey, and the pinch of sea salt.
Stir until the granules and sweetener are fully dissolved.
Pour the sumac-infused water from step 1 through a fine mesh sieve (or cheesecloth) into the pitcher, discarding the sumac solids.
Stir the mixture gently to combine.
Taste, and adjust sweetness or salt if needed. (If using the optional Mulling Spice, stir in the ½ tsp now for a subtle warm-spice undertone.)
Chill in the refrigerator for ~15 minutes if you like, or pour immediately into glasses filled with ice cubes.
Serve each glass with garnish: a lemon slice, fresh mint sprig, or a few raspberries for a pop of color.
Recipe Note
Visual appeal: The sumac infusion gives a natural pink-reddish hue — very eye-catching. Use clear glasses to showcase the color.
