Ingredients
-
1 lb (≈ 450 g) potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
-
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
-
1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
-
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
-
½ cup heavy cream (120 ml)
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for garnish
-
1½-2 Tbsp The Spice Guy Truffle Parmesan blend (adjust to taste)
-
Salt, to taste
-
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions (usually until they float).
Drain gnocchi and set aside, reserving a small ladle of the cooking water.
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant (do not brown).
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
Stir in the Truffle Parmesan blend and the ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese.
Whisk until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Add the drained gnocchi to the skillet.
Toss gnocchi gently to coat each piece in the sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of the reserved cooking water (1-2 tablespoons) to loosen it.
Taste and adjust with salt and freshly ground black pepper as needed (the blend already contains Parmesan and truffle flavor, so go lightly).
Plate the gnocchi in warm bowls.
Garnish with extra grated Parmesan, chopped fresh parsley, and (if using) a light drizzle of truffle oil or a few thin slices of fresh truffle for a true gourmet finish.
Recipe Note
Protein boost: Add seared chicken breast or sautéed shrimp for a more substantial meal.
Veggie twist: Stir in sautéed mushrooms (cremini or wild) or wilted spinach for extra texture and flavor.
Serving suggestion: Pair with a crisp green salad and a light white wine (like Pinot Grigio) to balance the richness.
